Position Summary:
You will be working as part of the Equipment Qualification (EQ) Group. The EQ Group consists of Equipment Environmental Qualification (EEQ) and Procurement Engineers (CGD) and will interface with Equipment Seismic Qualification Engineers (ESQ). The ideal candidate will be leading the key EEQ activities up to and including generating the final Equipment Qualification Packages (EQP's). The ideal candidate will have solid experience in detailed evaluations and documentation of EEQ efforts with an emphasis on the nuclear safety, nuclear licensing and design basis requirements applicable to safety equipment. Specific knowledge of IEEE standard 323-83 and associated IEEE standards related to EEQ is a must. You will be providing technical leadership during reviews of discipline material requisitions, specifications, calculations, datasheets, and supplier submittals in support of the issuance of the EQP.
Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Senior Environmental Equipment Engineer is to prepare, coordinate, and review designs, studies, reports and proposals.
Must have the ability to work independently, use engineering judgment, and devise new approaches to solving problems.
Executes environmental engineering major deliverables according to a set engineering design criteria utilizing approved engineering procedures and practices.
Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
Support the procurement of equipment by reviewing procurement packages, review of vendor submittals and resolution of technical issues during the procurement of plant equipment.
Review and disposition of field change notices, non-conformance reports, and condition reports.
