Position Summary
You will be working as part of the Mechanical Handling team designing the areas of material handling equipment, treatment and vitrification systems, and/or supporting utilities. You will be preparing 3D Models, detail drawings, design proposal drawings, and simulations. The ideal candidate will have some experience in mechanical handling or equipment procurement. You will be interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and the client in the development of the design.
Responsibilities
The primary role of the Mechanical Designer is meeting with engineers to establish their requirements for a new or existing mechanical designs.
Working on CAD software, such as Solidworks, Microstation and IGRIP, to create drawings and models in line with the design drawings and specifications.
Creating designs in accordance with company regulations and client standards and values.
Perform work using Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and appropriate 2-D and 3-D computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools (Solidworks, IGRIP, Microstation).
Support the procurement of equipment by developing procurement packages, reviewing quotations and evaluating them technically; review of vendor submittals and resolution of technical issues during the procurement of mechanical equipment.
