Job Description

Purchasing Assistant provides administrative support to the Catalog Team.  Primary responsibilities include clerical duties, and tracking and reporting information.  Must be detail oriented and accurate.  Will work vendors to track samples and assist in solving receiving and product problems.
 
-  Organize photography samples
-  Compile information to comply with regulations - care labels, ingredient lists, etc..
-  Update available SKU list
-  Maintain product information in the company database
-  Prepare boards for presentations
-  Tag and file samples
-  Clerical (typing, filing, faxing, other duies as assigned)
-  Create criteria report for each new mailing
-  Proof catalog pages
-  Provide inventory planning with drop ship vendor information
-  Provide inventory planning with related SKU lists and with copies of catalog pages for each new catalog
-  Proof website against each new catalog
-  Communicate web clearance items and markdowns
-  Assign and build new SKUs (both for catalog and web-only)
-  Assist Buyers with product presentation spreadsheets and various other tasks
-  Quality check stock as it comes in
-  Generate and verify new item forms
-  Master all systems - MS Office, Web Client, etc..


Job Requirements

Education:  High school or equiavlent
 
Experience:  2-3 years + of general office experience preferred
 
Skills:  Ability to communicate effectively.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole #s, common fractions, and decimals.  PC skills to work in MS Word and Excel.
 
Required Schedule:  8 hr day scheduled so as to core office hours of 9am-3pm.
