Job Description

Civil Engineer - will take an active role in a fast-paced, multifaceted area of design, including environmental restoration, industrial compliance, and stormwater engineering.
 
This position will be accountable for:
  • Completing due diligence for engineering projects, programs, and operations to ensure planning, development, and construction are following all applicable city/state/federal codes and regulations, and according to all acceptable engineering practices
  • Performing desktop assessments and analysis, including watershed hydrology, open channel hydraulics, and river and floodplain modeling/permitting
  • Preparing plans and calculations to support stormwater management, infrastructure, and wastewater projects
  • Site grading and volumetric calculations
  • Collaborating with a design team and project management in design and plan development; QA/QC of plan drawings; and developing quantity take-offs and opinions of probable cost
  • Supporting project managers to keep projects on schedule and budget

Skills / Experience/ Education

Having a strong desire to improve the environment while working as a client advocate is at the core of what the company does. The ideal candidate for this position would be a design-minded, environmentally focused individual with the following qualifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
  • Familiarity with stormwater management, infrastructure, grading and erosion, and sediment control plans
  • Demonstrated knowledge of surface water hydrology and open-channel hydraulics
  • Experience with Hydraflow, HEC-RAS or other hydraulic and hydrologic modeling is required
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task regularly in a fast-paced environment with multiple changes; accepting responsibility for critical work products and meeting tight deadlines
  • Multidisciplinary background containing a mixture of engineering, science, and regulatory skills
