Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., a national wholesale and correspondent mortgage company has a full-time opportunity for a Correspondent Purchase Review Coordinator to join our National Correspondent Channel in San Diego, California!

This position will review and facilitate the purchase of loans through the Correspondent business channel.
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager. Job duties may change as required by needs of company. Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage. 
  1. Manage and maintain a pipeline of loans ranging from pre-certified bulks, certified and uncertified loan reviews.
  2. Status pipeline to ensure loans are moving to purchase in a timely manner.
  3. Review final conditions provided to determine if they meet requirements and either sign off or recondition if not satisfactory.
  4. Monitor and manage loans in outsource vendors’ sites and also Plaza’s LOS.
  5. Complete data entry in LOS to ensure servicing data is accurate prior to the purchase of loans.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to correspondent clients, sales staff and outsource vendors.
  7. Serves as escalation point for addressing issues and communicating directly with Correspondents and outsource vendors as needed.
  8. Coordinate with Underwriters on conditions they may need to review or escalations pertaining to underwriting.
  9. Monitor loan status for timely resolution to avoid aging.
  10. Monitor delivery of collateral and clear collateral data and document exceptions provided by the custodians.
  11. Coordinate final purchase with Accounting and generate purchase advice.
  12. Work with Post Closing Department and Shipping Department to assist in investor suspense conditions as delegated by manager.
  13. Confirm loan will be purchased by commitment date or refer to manager for negotiation.
  14. Prioritize file review as directed by management according to demands and needs.
  15. Independent management of assigned pipeline.
  16. Written and verbal communication of outstanding conditions to affect the purchase of the loans.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in San Diego. Position is *temporarily* remote during covid.
  • High school diploma
  • Current knowledge of the mortgage banking industry and a minimum of two years’ experience in funding government and conventional loans
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • exceptional attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work, the ability to manage time, multi-task, and prioritize work in a high paced environment with heavy volume of transactions
