Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., a national wholesale and correspondent mortgage company headquartered in San Diego, California, has a full-time opportunity for a Regional Sales Associate in San Diego, CA. (Remote is a possibility)
  
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:
The primary role of this position is to assist Account Executives (AEs) to maximize sales production while also identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to expand and retain client relationships. The National Correspondent Regional Sales Associate handles a variety of complex customer and operational transactions requiring a high degree of flexibility and time management skills.
                                                                   
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager.  Job duties may change as required by needs of company.  Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.
  • Secondary liaison between Sales, Ops, Secondary, Risk, Compliance, Marketing, Accounting, and Correspondent Approval.
  • Assist Account Executive with tasks
    • AEs will make sure their Sales Assistant is given reasonable time to complete each task.
      • Sales Assistant to communicate with AEs if due dates are not reasonable or achievable.
      • Some tasks from VP or SVP will need to be expedited, same day or next day.
  • Be the point of contact for clients when AEs are out of office or at the request of AEs.
    • Extends to both internal and external clients.
  • Help clients through email, phone, online presentations, and screen-shares. This encompasses items, such as:
    • General inquiries
    • Scenarios
    • Program/Product
    • Pricing
    • Process
    • Client issues/complaints
  • Develop into point person for scheduling and coordinating “welcome calls”, “training calls” and other joint phone calls for new and existing clients.
    • Responsible for onboarding new clients including updating CRM.
  • At AEs’ request, assist with loan sales. 
    • AEs will also give directions on how to complete.
      • Run the loan sale if clients need assistance.
      • Be the liaison between client and secondary desk.
      • Answer questions and promote how the CLP program in addition to “No Retail” provides clients with additional value.
  • Research and aggregate data on new prospects for AEs to contact.
  • Monitor and filter training attendee lists for client and prospect attendees to then follow up with relevant materials.
  • Conduct weekly phone meetings with RVP and AEs to formulate objectives and strategies.
  • Create and implement new reports, protocols, and procedures to ensure efficiency and tractability. Ensure that all items are relevant and up to date inside of our shared documents folder.
  • Build an excel spreadsheet database for new clients/make sure they match input in CRM and a spreadsheet to forecast weekly/monthly/quarterly goals to hit if adjusted by a percentage.
  • At AEs’ request, research, aggregate data and create agenda for AEs before meetings with clients:
    • Compile marketing flyers on programs they want to discuss with clients
    • Compile Trending Report
    • Compile BI Report
  • Organize and compile notes from existing and prospective client meetings.
    • AEs will also give direction on how or if to complete.
  • Travel and attend client meetings when necessary.
    • VP must approve
  • Sit in on client calls when necessary.
  • Social Media (Weekly task/as needed).
    • Actively share relevant industry-related and/or Plaza Home Mortgage specific content on social media platforms.
      • This could be re-sharing a Plaza Home Mortgage post or an industry topic.
      • Sales Assistant can help come up with items to share on LinkedIn.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of recent experience in the mortgage banking industry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work.
  • Ability to manage time, multi-task, and prioritize work in a high paced environment with heavy volume of transactions.
  • Strong commitment to customer and associate service.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in both a team and individual environment.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), knowledge of internet browsers.
  • Ability to use independent judgment skills to make quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures and have the ability to monitor and oversee loan production pipelines.
  • Sales associates who will be driving on company business will be required to maintain a valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a clean driving record.
