PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:
The Lead Internal Auditor manages a team of Internal Auditors in the performance of internal audits, ensuring that internal audits comply with applicable standards, regulations, and guidance and that resulting reports are fair, impartial, and useful.                                  
 
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive.  The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager.  Job duties may change as required by needs of company.  Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.
  1. Perform the full audit cycle including resk management and control management over operations' effectiveness, financial reliability, and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
  2. Manage a team of internal auditors.
  3. Evaluate processes for compliance with quality requirements.
  4. Develop audit plans and audit schedules.
  5. Identify processes, situations, etc. where organization is meeting requirements, as well as identify opportunities for improvement.
  6. Assist audit team in developing audit reports to Executive management.
  7. Assist with follow-up audits, as required.
  8. May be required to develop internal auditing/testing parameters.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years experience in Internal Audit
  • IA Certification(s) preferred
  • Mortgage Banking industry preferred
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to think and plan strategically, yet execute tactically
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work, manage time, multi-task and prioritize work in a high paced environment
  • Ability and experience in managing to and meeting deadlines
