The agency serves Oswego, Cayuga Madison, Cortland, and Onondaga counties. La Liga aims to empower communities by creating avenues that breed self-sufficiency. Through education, opportunities and economic development the society prospers as a whole. Although La Liga aims to serve all members of the community, the programs are designed to serve Hispanic households with low-to-moderate incomes. La Liga offers services in different areas: language services, youth leadership and development, health and wellness, and housing and careers.

The Health Educator will oversee weekly educational enrichment programming for youth groups ages 10-21. Plan, coordinate, and introduce youth groups to opportunities that will further develop their educational and career paths to empower them to succeed. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. The salary range is $35,000-$38,000/Annually
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                                                                                                                      
  • Comply with all CAPP, TOP, and Wyman protocols and requirements.
  • Primary point of contact for schools and educational agencies.
  •  Meets with Youth groups weekly.
  •  Accompanies Youth Assistant/Driver in transporting students.
  • Dedicated Intake day.
  • Agency support as needed (intake, appointments, front desk coverage, and/or hotline coverage)
  • Explore new funding sources to support program.
  • Maintain student, client, and agency confidentiality.
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible. Schedules are subject to change. Some evenings and/or weekends are required.
  • Works with parents to assess student and family needs.
  • Makes necessary referrals.
  • Conduct program and agency outreach and education.
  • Return all appropriate e-mail and phone calls daily
  • Track program and agency data. Keep program and agency database current.
  • Prepare program reports and assist with agency reports.
  • Attend and participate in program and agency meetings/trainings/events. 
  • Maintain safety of all Program youth.
  • Follow mandated reporter protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against covid-19
  • No Remote Work Available
  • High School Diploma required. Associates degree (preferred)
  • Valid NYS Driver's License Required
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Background check must be completed
  • Mandated reporter training certificate within 90 days of hire
