Under the supervision of the program coordinator of the project hope crisis counseling program the requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  The Crisis Counseling Team Lead will provide the leading activities as it relates to the crisis counseling program including and not limited to the oversight of the crisis counselors. The employee ensures strengths based, person centered quality of care provided in a culturally and linguistically meaningful therapeutic environment. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                                                                                                                      
  • Supervises and leads the team of the crisis counselors.
  • Performs review on the engagement strategy of community mapping and local needs assessment
  • Implement practices within the team as an experienced disaster behavioral health care professional
  • Responsible for assessing individuals who might require mental health or substance use treatment.
  • Lead the training series as expected by FEMA of the crisis counselors. 
  • Uses program data reports to perform ongoing evaluations of the program and change analysis cycles  
  • Coordinates data collection activities and reviews data form submissions for accuracy.
  • In charge of reviewing forms submitted through the mobile application, approval and rejection of such. 
  • Utilizes the mobile application to complete data forms; assist with crisis counseling service provision. 
  • Updates the plans of service document.
Education requirements 

  • Must be fully vaccinated against covid-19
  • MSW preferred (MSW, MHC)  
  • -Licensed preferred (LMSW, LMHC) 
  • Bachelor's Degree in a social service or counseling discipline,  can be considered with remarkable experience and training in behavioral           health services 
  • Extensive knowledge of organizational, community work and/or social service resources and programs.
  • Proficiency in behavioral health and integrated practices 
  • Ability to use business acumen to exercise good judgment and decision-making
  • Most work is completed in community, with occasional work done in the office as indicated by supervisor. 
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions while performing tasks associated with job functions.  
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion. 
  • Must be able to multi task with strong organization sills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Commitment to cultural diversity and sensitivity.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure and operate with a keen sense of urgency and commitment to quality.
  • Bilingual – Spanish speaking a plus.
