We are seeking a dynamic Job Readiness Coach to be a part of our interdisciplinary team. He/she will assist clients in developing and implementing a comprehensive program of voc/ed services that will result in client’s involvement in employment, skills training or education activities. The Job Readiness Coach develops linkages with community service providers, and makes referrals accordingly. 
Responsibilities consist of but not limited to:
  • Conduct comprehensive vocational/educational assessments during admission/ orientation phase
  • Provide individual and group vocational counseling (Ready, Set, Work) to assist clients in making appropriate and attainable choices regarding their vocational and career goals
  • Develop vocational treatment plans
  • Implement an effective curriculum to educate clients in life and necessary employability skills that will enable them to achieve their vocational goals
  • Actively participate on the interdisciplinary team
  • Develop and maintain a wide range of community based resources to provide training, education and employment opportunities
  • Refer clients to appropriate voc/ed service providers in the community
  • Provide follow up and post-placement support services to clients who are employed or in training
  • Complete and file all DHS paperwork requirements such as but not limited to Independent Living Plans, progress notes and group notes in a timely manner and within regulation standards
  • Submit accurate statistical data to ensure program compliance with DHS regulations and other applicable intergovernmental oversight agencies
Education/ License:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of related experience
  • Experience working with special populations (homeless, mental health, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge about vocational educational needs of hard to employ population/substance abuse population
  • Experience in group facilitation
  • Strong ability to use independent judgment, manage and impart information clearly and appropriately
  • Knowledge of data collection as it pertains to regulations from oversight agencies
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively and clearly both orally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops
  • Excellent knowledge of vocational and educational providers and services
  • Excellent ability to make evaluative and objective judgments
  • Bilingual is a plus
