We are seeking a RN Supervisor who will be accountable for the management of resident care, supervision of staff delivering care, input to actual decision making into all situations effecting the smooth operation of the facility.  The Nurse Supervisor will provide leadership and act as a role model for all unit personnel.  The Nurse Supervisor maintains the quality of resident care through an on-going process of assessment, planning, implementation and the supervision of nursing activities and work with other departments to provide coordinated services to the residents.
 
Responsibilities consist of but not limited to:
  • Supports and promotes the philosophy, objective, policies and procedures of Acacia’s Care Facility and the Nursing Department
  • Keeps the Administrator on call, informed of facility problems that need concern
  • Effectively leads, manages and directs the staff on the unit to provide quality resident care
  • Ensures staff accurately completes tour assigned Comprehensive Care Plans (CCP’s) by the completion target date
  • Supervises and evaluates the resident’s comprehensive care plan, assuring that it is current at all times
  • Evaluates the performance of nursing personnel on the unit
  • Monitors the delivery of nursing care and the outcomes of nursing interventions through daily rounds on the unit
  • Provides leadership at Unit Conferences, Resident’s Comprehensive Care Conferences, implementation of MDS, PRI Assessment, Quality Improvement Program and Infection Control issues
  • Collaborates with the Scheduling Coordinator to ensure that staffing needs are in place
  • Develops and monitors quality improvement indicators that are reflective of the unit population, identifying trends and pattern data and determines corrective action plans
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings. Maintains staff meetings minutes and reports to the Director of Nursing pertinent information from staff meetings
  • Assures that a complete and accurate tour report is sent from the unit to the Nursing Office to reflect the condition of all residents on the unit
  • Arranges for and/or participates in education of staff, residents and families; fosters and implements programs that support an environment for staff development; attends scheduled assigned meetings
  • Monitors unit budget as assigned
  • Interacts with residents’ families and significant others to promote resident well-being and resolve conflicts
  • Participates in the interview process for perspective staff members
  • Actively participates in the orientation of new nursing staff/staff members and recommends and evaluates the effectiveness of the In-Service Education Program of the Nursing Department
  • Assures that appropriate supplies and equipment is available for staff members for the delivery of care
  • Administer medication via IV, PO,  SQ,GT as per Medical Provider’s order
  • Participates in Pain Management assessment and initiating the Pain Assessment tool
  • Participates in conflict resolution and reports to other IDT members
Education/ License: 
  • Associates Degree required  
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in New York State
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of related experience in health care setting
  • Must have excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
