As a Water Technician at Contemporary Pool Works, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining swimming pools and spas to ensure they remain clean, safe, and enjoyable for our customers. From balancing water chemistry to managing pool equipment, you'll be responsible for providing top-notch maintenance services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Water Maintenance:
    • Balance water chemistry to ensure optimal pH levels.
    • Understand the hydraulics of water flow and pool equipment operation.
    • Thoroughly clean pools and spas, including skimming, vacuuming, and brushing.
  • Maintenance Route:
    • Complete assigned maintenance routes daily to service pools and spas.
    • Report any pool issues encountered during maintenance visits.
  • Truck Maintenance:
    • Maintain assigned trucks by emptying trash daily, washing it weekly, and vacuuming it regularly.
  • Chemical Inventory Management:
    • Ensure the truck is stocked with necessary chemicals and tools for daily maintenance tasks.
    • Responsible for returning assigned tools daily and adding all chemicals used to the job.
  • Certification and Expertise:
    • Hold a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.
    • Suggest repairs to customers' equipment based on your expertise.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Communicate effectively with customers, the office, and supervisors.
    • Collaborate with the Water Tech manager and other team members as needed.
  • Business Growth:
    • Increase the number of maintenance customers through exceptional service.
    • Place stickers on all customers' equipment for branding purposes.
  • Residential Maintenance Route:
    • Visit residential properties on a daily basis to perform routine maintenance on swimming pools and spas.
    • Test and balance water chemistry, ensuring that pH, alkalinity, and sanitizer levels are within recommended ranges.
    • Vacuum, skim, and brush pool surfaces to remove debris and maintain cleanliness.
    • Inspect pool equipment, including pumps, filters, and heaters, and troubleshoot any issues as needed.
  • Customer Service:
    • Interact with homeowners in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
    • Provide recommendations for pool maintenance and repairs based on the condition of the pool and water chemistry test results.
    • Communicate effectively with office staff to report daily activities and update service records.
  • Additional Tasks:
    • Aid service and construction teams with tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks associated with pool maintenance.
  • Previous experience in pool maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • CPO certification is required.
  • Strong understanding of water chemistry, pool hydraulics, and equipment operation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing job requirements.

Company Vehicle/Mileage Reimbursement:
  • Utilize the company pickup truck to transport equipment, chemicals, and tools to and from residential properties.

Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday 8:30 - 5:30 with 1 hour lunch break
