    Mitchell Glass Company is seeking a motivated Jr. Glazing Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the success of our glazing projects from sales and bids to completion. With hands-on training from our General Manager and retiring estimator, you'll develop the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the glazing industry. This is a full-time, in-person position offering exceptional growth opportunities, comprehensive training, and competitive compensation.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Market to potential customers, develop new accounts, and foster client relationships.
    • Participate in job walks and pre-bid meetings to gather client requirements and project details.
    • Review project specifications and architectural drawings to determine the scope of work.
    • Perform accurate quantity take-offs and analyze labor, material, and equipment requirements.
    • Solicit pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, and negotiate favorable terms.
    • Coordinate subcontractor quotations and issue purchase orders.
    • Prepare detailed project proposals and maintain labor cost databases with unit pricing.
    • Monitor awarded contracts, including managing change orders, procuring materials, and tracking budgets.
    • Follow up on project completion, analyzing differences between estimated and actual costs.
    • Use construction estimating tools such as WinBid Pro and Bluebeam (training provided).

    The ideal candidate should possess:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the architectural glazing industry or 5 years in construction.
    • Proficiency or willingness to learn WinBid Pro, Bluebeam, and other estimating software.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural fabrication, and structural drawings.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
    • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
    • Problem-solving mindset with critical and creative thinking abilities.
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Preferred: Curtain wall estimation experience.
