POSITION TITLE: IT Security & Field Technician
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Exempt, Full-Time
DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: IT department
REPORTS TO: IT Security & Infrastructure Manager
SCHEDULE: 40 hours weekly
PAY RANGE: $75K - $85K
Based on experience, education and qualifications.

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated IT Security & Field Technician to join our team. This hybrid role
combines cybersecurity responsibilities with hands-on field support for IT infrastructure across
multiple locations. The ideal candidate will maintain the organization's security posture by
monitoring and responding to threats, implementing security protocols, and ensuring system
integrity while providing technical support for hardware, software, and network systems. This
position is suitable for detail-oriented individuals with a strong technical foundation and a
willingness to travel to client sites, delivering exceptional customer service in a dynamic
environment.

Key Responsibilities
􀁸 Monitor and respond to security alerts, logs, and events from systems such as firewalls,
antivirus, and intrusion detection tools, providing vulnerability reports as needed.
􀁸 Support patch management to ensure timely updates are applied to systems and
endpoints.
􀁸 Conduct basic vulnerability scans and assist in compliance audits to maintain security
standards.
􀁸 Install, configure, and maintain IT systems, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers,
mobile devices, and security equipment (e.g., alarms, access control, CCTV).
􀁸 Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues,
escalating complex problems to senior technicians when necessary.
􀁸 Provide on-site and remote technical support to end users, ensuring high levels of
customer satisfaction.
􀁸 Document incidents, support requests, access logs, and technical resolutions accurately in
helpdesk or ticketing systems.
􀁸 Support IT projects, including hardware rollouts, network upgrades, and office
relocations.
􀁸 Follow and enforce established security protocols and company IT policies.
􀁸 Collaborate with the IT team on preventive maintenance, process improvements, and
other assigned duties.
􀁸 Stay updated on emerging security threats, technologies, and industry best practices
through continuous learning.

Qualifications
􀁸 High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor's degree in Information
Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field preferred (or equivalent
experience/certifications).
􀁸 2-3 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or security system
maintenance (entry-level candidates with relevant certifications considered).
􀁸 Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and
familiarity with Windows and macOS operating systems.
􀁸 Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, tools, and frameworks (e.g., NIST).
􀁸 Strong problem-solving and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and
team members.
􀁸 Ability to travel locally to provide field support (reliable transportation required) and
perform tasks requiring occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds), standing, bending, or
climbing.
􀁸 Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Cisco Certified Network
Associate (CCNA) are highly desirable.

Preferred Skills
􀁸 Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Autotask) or Security Information and Event
Management (SIEM) tools.
􀁸 Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, or endpoint protection
software.
􀁸 Hands-on experience with tools like Wireshark, Milestone VMS, or penetration testing.
􀁸 Basic proficiency in programming languages (e.g., C++, PHP, Python) for scripting or
automation tasks.
􀁸 Additional certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional
(CISSP).
􀁸 Strong interpersonal skills to explain technical concepts clearly and build rapport with
clients.
􀁸 Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and be on-call for emergencies outside regular
hours.

Work Conditions
􀁸 The position primarily involves work in an office setting within the parish premises,
requiring frequent use of office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, and
filing systems.
􀁸 Evening and weekend work is required to accommodate parish programs and events.
􀁸 Must be available to adjust the schedule as needed to meet the needs of the parish community and ministry activities.
􀁸 Regular interaction with children, youth, adults, and volunteers in a professional and
faith-based environment.
􀁸 Some local travel may be required for parish and diocesan meetings or events.

Physical Requirements
􀁸 Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing administrative tasks.
􀁸 Frequent walking, standing, and moving around the parish campus to support programs
and events.
􀁸 Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds, such as program materials, supplies, and
event setups.
􀁸 Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment, creating materials, and
managing paperwork.
􀁸 Visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and
parishioners in person, via email, and by phone.
􀁸 Must be able to set up and dismantle chairs, tables, and other equipment needed for
parish activities as required.
