THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY
This key leadership role is in a high-growth, high-profit portfolio company of big thinkers and big doers. It is a CPG/beverage/dietary supplement company with a history of strong, profitable growth as the number one product and brand in its emerging category. Through its expanding sales and distribution network, the team is positioned to scale existing and new products globally, driving exponential revenue growth. With the leadership team in place, the opportunity is now to execute a scalable retail expansion strategy, optimize sales execution, and maximize category leadership on the path to a lucrative exit.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the Vice President of Chain & Key Accounts, you will be responsible for leading retail expansion and driving revenue growth across convenience store chains, liquor, grocery, mass, drug, and club channels. You will develop and execute a national sales strategy, build long-term key account relationships, and lead a high-performing sales team to maximize market penetration, sales velocity, and brand execution.
This is an opportunity for a proven sales leader with deep experience in CPG sales, category management, trade marketing, and retail execution. The ideal candidate has a track record of successfully scaling CPG brands in national and regional retail chains and strong relationships with key buyers across multiple retail channels.

Strategic Sales Driver - You build and execute sales strategies that increase revenue, expand distribution, and secure long-term retail partnerships in the CPG industry.
Retail Relationship Builder - You have deep industry connections and excel at building trust-based, high-impact partnerships with convenience, liquor, grocery, mass, drug, and club retailers.
Results-Oriented & Data-Driven - You focus on measurable results and leverage data to inform decision-making, using CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce), POS analytics, and category insights.
Execution-Focused & Dynamic Leader - You attract, develop, and lead high-performing sales teams, ensuring consistent execution, accountability, and exceeding revenue targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Retail & Channel Expansion
Lead expansion into national and regional chain accounts across convenience (c-store), liquor, grocery, mass, drug, and club channels.
Develop and execute a scalable sales strategy to increase store penetration, expand product distribution, and maximize revenue opportunities.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional programs to drive category leadership and long-term growth.
Leverage data-driven sales insights to identify high-value retail partnerships and optimize trade spend for maximum ROI.
Key Account Management & Sales Leadership
Manage and grow existing chain relationships, ensuring best-in-class execution, revenue performance, and customer satisfaction.
Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key accounts, identifying growth opportunities and securing commitments for expanded distribution.
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing national sales team, including key account managers and regional sales leaders.
Set clear KPIs and performance benchmarks, ensuring that sales teams consistently deliver against revenue and execution targets.
Category & Market Intelligence
Utilize category management expertise to provide sell-through analysis, consumer insights, and competitive intelligence to retailers.
Monitor industry trends, pricing strategies, and emerging category innovations to inform go-to-market strategies.
Leverage retail analytics, POS data, and sales performance reports to drive informed decision-making and sales optimization.
Field Execution & Trade Marketing
Develop and oversee in-store execution programs that ensure strong merchandising, promotional compliance, and product visibility.
Launch and manage in-store promotional campaigns in 5,000+ retail locations, increasing customer trial and driving sales lift.
Collaborate with marketing and brand teams to develop and deploy impactful shopper engagement programs.
Process, Systems & Reporting
Optimize sales CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) and analytics platforms to track sales performance, pipeline, and forecasting.
Develop and execute data-driven territory strategies, focusing sales efforts on high-value markets and accounts.
Implement a national compliance program, ensuring 95%+ compliance in product placement and stock levels across key accounts.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
7-10+ years of sales leadership experience in the CPG industry, focusing on chain accounts and retail expansion.
Proven track record of winning and managing major retail chains in convenience, liquor, grocery, mass, drug, and club channels.
Experience leading and scaling a high-performance sales team in a multi-channel retail environment.
Expertise in trade marketing, category management, and competitive landscape analysis.
Strong negotiation skills - ability to secure multi-year trade agreements, category placements, and promotional commitments.
Proficiency in sales analytics, CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce), and POS data analysis to drive strategy and execution.
Experience working in regulated CPG categories such as dietary supplements, functional beverages, or natural products (preferred).
Entrepreneurial mindset - thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with a test-and-learn approach.
Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills, balancing big-picture vision with hands-on execution.
COMPENSATION
An aggressive base salary will be provided in this position, with an additional lucrative bonus plan based on performance. In this role you will contribute directly to a highly lucrative exit and will be rewarded generously as a result. Full medical benefits are provided as part of this roll.
