Summary: The Scrum Master with healthcare experience is a key facilitator within the Agile development team, ensuring the successful implementation of Agile principles and practices in the context of healthcare software development projects. This role requires a deep understanding of both Agile methodologies and the unique challenges and requirements of the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Agile Practices:
  1. Serve as a servant-leader for the Agile team, facilitating Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  2. Coach and mentor team members on Agile principles and practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Healthcare Domain Knowledge:
  1. Utilize healthcare industry expertise to provide insights and guidance on regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and best practices within healthcare software development.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand healthcare-specific challenges and ensure that solutions meet the needs of end-users and regulatory bodies.
• Team Empowerment:
  1. Empower the development team to self-organize and make decisions autonomously, while ensuring alignment with project goals and priorities.
  2. Remove impediments and barriers to team progress, escalating issues as needed to management or stakeholders.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  1. Foster open communication and collaboration within the Agile team and with stakeholders, promoting transparency and shared understanding.
  2. Coordinate with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to prioritize backlog items and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Continuous Improvement:
  1. Lead efforts to continuously improve Agile practices and processes within the team and across the organization.
  2. Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and deliver greater value to healthcare stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Scrum Master in software development, preferably within the healthcare industry.
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and experience applying them in a healthcare context.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, HITECH, and GDPR, and their implications for software development.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
• Experience working with healthcare stakeholders such as clinicians, administrators, and regulatory agencies is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, Electronic Health Records (EHR), Health Information Exchanges (HIE), and other healthcare technologies is a plus.
