Position Summary:
The Physical Therapy Aide supports the Physical Therapy Department which is a specialty service provided within our Plaza del Castillo health center in the Bronx. This is a great opportunity for individuals with a certificate in medical assisting or someone pursuing a career/degree in Physical Therapy or Exercise Science to have the opportunity to work directly with our dedicated team of Physical Therapists.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bilingual Spanish/English required.
- Certificate in Medical Assisting, a huge plus.
- 1-2 years of support experience in a health center or clinical setting.
- Ability to work with an integrated team approach to healthcare.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Key Duties:
- Coordinates scheduling of patients.
- Contacts patients via phone and in person.
- Assists patients with exercise and supervising while they are on machines.
- Completes daily checks of all logs and equipment.
- Prepares patient for treatment, including taking vital signs.
- All duties as assigned by PT.
Starting Compensation: Minimum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually); Maximum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually)

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
This position is fully onsite working based out of our Bronx based FQHC, Plaza Del Castillo.
The Physical Therapy Aide should be able to work a temporary schedule Monday, Tuesday and Friday 8 am to 5 pm; Wednesday and Thursday 9:00am - 6:00pm.
Regular schedule on rotation will be Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm or 8:30am to 5:30pm or 9am to 6pm; and monthly Saturday rotation 9am to 1pm.
