Position Summary:
We are currently hiring a Lead Breast Imaging Tracking Specialist who will be responsible for tracking all breast imaging reports/ results and log reported recommendations for follow-ups, biopsy, etc. The BI Tracking Specialist ensures confidentiality, security and integrity of data and information in accordance with NYS privacy laws and UHP's policy and procedure. This role is stationed in our Family Health Center in Corona, Queens. Selected incumbents should be aware that the first 2 months of training will be held in our flagship location in the Bronx. 

Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Previous experience working in a community-based health center or similar setting ideally with breast imaging and/or mammo is a huge plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience within a diagnostics/radiology department is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with computers and software.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.  

Key Duties:
  • Review patient charts in eCW and PACS to identify, sort, and evaluate prior mammography history from external facilities.
  • Process and document all patient and third-party requests for breast imaging records.
  • Reconcile logs of record requests and image drop-offs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Burn CDs for images received from external facilities and properly document.
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) on screening mammogram orders and ensure patients are scheduled internally in accordance with American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling and mammography order inconsistencies by initiating and managing telephone encounters as needed.
  • Approve cases in the PenRad tracking system, document critical values in the VCC template to ensure proper provider follow-up and print PenRad lay letters.
  • Monitor Breast Imaging internal eCW lab boxes (including PDS Mammography) to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner.
  • Request and retrieve prior breast imaging studies from external facilities and upload them into UHP PACS systems.
  • Schedule screening mammograms and monitor external biopsies and abnormal diagnostic cases; obtain biopsy and pathology reports from outside facilities to resolve critical cases in PenRad.
  • Complete CSP forms in coordination with the CSP coordinator and internal PSR team; ensure timely submission.
  • Ensure referrals are processed appropriately for external orders and follow up on patients referred to outside facilities.
  • Provide administrative support to the Radiology Administrator for MQSA inspections and ACR accreditation and perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation: $47,320/annum based on 40 hours per week ($22.75/hr)

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Candidates must possess availability to work fully onsite at our Corona Queens based Health Center, Plaza Del Sol. Must be available to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
