Position Summary:
The School-Based Behavioral Health Manager (LCSW) oversees daily behavioral health operations across school-based health centers, ensuring coverage, coordination, and compliance. The role also supervises social workers and interns, provides clinical consultation, and partners with school staff to support student mental health services. 
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's in Social Work Required along with NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • 2-5 years of previous experience as an LCSW working with children and youth who present with emotional and behavioral challenges
  • Previous school-based experience is highly desired.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Strong interest in and commitment to racial equity, social justice, parent engagement, public health, and equity and excellence.
  • Work with fidelity to model while also maintaining flexibility to adapt to a school's need.
  • Strong data management and reporting capabilities
  • Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, with a flexible and can-do attitude.
  • Travelling is required for this position across school health sites in the Bronx and Queens. 

Key Duties:
  • Responsible for day-to-day coordination and management of the School Behavioral Health Program and its associates; monitors providers' template, scheduling and assures coverage of School Health Social Workers and Social Work Interns.
  • Provides professional development to supervisees- to strengthen and reinforce clinical skills.
  • Promotes integration of learning into practice; will provide direct supervision (individual and group) and clinical consultation to Social Workers for a minimum of four hours per/month (weekly supervision).
  • Provides individual therapy in accordance to patients' needs in the absence of a school social worker within the school site.
  • Ensure clinical documentation is completed by all Social Workers in a timely matter and is in accordance with internal and external requirements (DOE) and regulations; participates in ongoing quality improvement efforts and peer review.
  • Serves as a liaison and works closely with all directors, managers and/or supervisors located throughout the organization, including the BH Dept (Article 28) and Article 31 setting to assure consistency with processes and clinical documentation. 
  • Coordinates with school administration/personnel during crisis events to support the crisis response.
  • Accessible via telephone to provide clinical consultation and collaboration to School Administration and School Health associates.
  • Works closely with Director (s) to promote team-based care and fosters medical integration to ensure continuity of care amongst providers.
  • Execute tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the targets and goals.
  • Participates in regional meetings and monthly team meetings and work in collaboration with NYC DOE.
  • Provides technical assistance, guidance, advisement and case consultation to DOE teams at school, borough, or Central Office level to ensure that all schools have robust referral pathways to connect students to care and community partners are linked to schools in his/her portfolio of programs.
  • Organizes and/or participates in outreach activities that may include developing communications, training, and planning/promoting events.
  • Adheres to regulatory requirements as defined by UHP Policies, New York City Agencies, New York State Agencies and Federal Agencies.
  • Performs and oversees payroll functions for all social workers in SBH.
  • Conducts on-boarding training for all new SBH Behavioral Health Providers.
  • The School BH Manager performs other duties as assigned

Starting Compensation: 
Minimum $95,000 per year; Maximum $105,000 per year
 
Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Onsite- Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
