Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the AVP/SR Administrator for Health Center Operations , the Assistant Director is to assist in directing the day-to-day functions of the facilities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the organization, and as may be directed by the AVP/SR Administrator for Health Center Operations, to assure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.  

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field of study is required. 
  • 1-2 years of previous administrative/operational/programmatic coordination or supervisor experience in a health care setting
  • Track record of success of working with medical providers, clinical staff, and administrative staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic medical records.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred. 

Key Duties:
  • Assist the AVP/SR Admin with the general day-to-day operations of ParkTree Community Health Center.
  • Provide supervision to the line staff.
  • Provide training and orientation to new associates.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of all provider vacations, educational and personal leave and informs all appropriate personnel accordingly.
  • Assist in scheduling department working hours, personnel, and work assignments as necessary or required.
  • Maintain and monitor daily & monthly schedules (providers & line staff).
  • Responsible for the Cash Collection process including daily reconciliation.
  • Follow-up on issues presented during Site Dir, Operations Sub-council, Joint Commission, Meetings and provide updates to the AVP/SR Administrator.
  • Perform weekly inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed and reports findings to the AVP/SR Administrator
  • Identify and report daily operational issues including but not limited to staff and/or provider coverage and equipment malfunction.
  • Ensure that adequate supplies and equipment are on hand to meet the day-to-day operational needs of the organization.
  • Ensure that the facilities are maintained in a clean and safe manner for patients and staff.
  • Assist with the supervision and coordination of special projects including PMO.
  • Follow-up with specific outside vendors relating to operational issues including but not limited to furniture, printing, and copiers/faxes.
  • Assist in the review of vendor invoices and report delinquencies to the AVP/SR Administrator.
  • Provide coverage in vacant areas as directed by the AVP/SR Administrator.
  • Provide representation at meetings as specified by the AVP/SR Administrator.
  • Represent UHP in dealing with outside agencies as directed by the AVP/SR Administrator.
  • Function as patient advocate and assure all patient comments are processed accordingly.
  • With the assistant of the AVP/SR Administrator participate in the hiring, training, of the line staff in addition conduct end of year evaluations.

Compensation:  $70,000/annum

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Onsite, Bronx, NY, Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
