Position Summary:
CitiCARES Community Health Center is Urban Health Plan's premier family medicine federally qualified health center in Harlem, NY. As a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant you will join an interdisciplinary team of professionals that provide primary care, specialty, and support services to the community in and around Central Harlem. 

Incumbents must have availability to work full time shifts between Mondays and Fridays with flexibility to work between the hours of 8am-5pm.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required along with Medical Assistant Certificate completed through an accredited program.
  • National Medical Assistant and/or RMA, + National Certified Phlebotomist credentials required. 
  • One year of previous experience working in an outpatient setting, community-based center or related healthcare setting is required. 
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Proficiency with computers and software (previous training in electronic health records is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.  
  • Kindness and compassion towards others and passion for supporting our patients.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, not required. 

Key Duties:
  • Prepare examination rooms, inventory, and sterilizes instruments.
  • Obtain vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
  • Assists providers during all aspects of exams including check-ups, routine physicals, treatments, and procedures.
  • Registers and verifies patient demographics. 
  • Schedules appointments and recalls patients for required services.

Starting Compensation: Minimum: $23.00/hour ; Maximum: $23.00/hour; Additional $1,500/annum in differential pay.
