Position Summary and Key Duties:
The Benefits Manager will manage the day-to-day administration of UHP benefits offerings (group health, dental, flexible spending account, life insurance, worker's compensation, 401(k) and others. Manages associates LOA's (FMLA. DBL. NYSPFL, and worker's compensation). Coordinate associates' voluntary benefits offerings. Assist with regulatory compliance duties.

  • Responsible for the administration and management of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, and others benefits.
  • Coordinates, monthly benefits orientation and enrollment, and annual open enrollment campaign.
  • Works closely with IT and Payroll to design and maintain an accurate associate benefit platform and ensure accuracy of records.
  • Maintains a business relationship with benefits providers and broker of records.
  • Handles all benefits inquiries and ensures quick, equitable, and courteous resolutions.
  • Maintains contact in person and by phone, followed by email with employees, insurance carriers, and employee beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits.
  • Supervises maintenance of records, enrollments, applications, and claim injuries for all benefits plans.
  • Displays superior technical knowledge of the working of group plans- plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other insurance mechanisms.
  • Coordinates monthly employee benefits meetings and arranges for enrollment of employees in the various benefits.
  • Communicates benefits plan changes to associates.
  • Prepares census data for brokers or record insurance quotations.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state laws, including but not limited to COBRA, HIPPA, FMLA, and NYPFL.
  • Stays current on benefits and HR legislation.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summating information and trends.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related areas
  • Provides additional support for all policies, and other HR areas as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources with 5 years of HR related experience.
  • English/Spanish Required
  • Knowledge of HRIS/Paylocity and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to develop effective, empathetic, and harmonious interactions with external and internal stakeholders.

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Fully Onsite, M-F 8:30-4:30, Bronx, NY.
 
Compensation: $80,000 per annum plus benefits.
