Position Summary:
We are currently hiring a Temporary Bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant to join our Plaza Del Sol Family Health Center located in Corona, Queens. As a Medical Assistant you will support a dynamic and professional team of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other providers that provide quality healthcare to our patients. The MA supports patient vitals, provider support and administrative duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Certification, required.
- Bilingual Spanish/English/Mandarin/Bengali, required.
- High School Diploma, required.
- 1-2 year of related medical assistant experience highly preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional experience to patients.
- Understanding of phone etiquette and standard office procedures.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties:
- Prepares examination rooms, stocks inventory and sterilizes instruments.
- Obtain vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
- Assists providers during all aspects of exams, treatments, and procedures.
- Registers and verifies patient demographics.
- Schedules appointments and recalls patients for required services.
Starting Compensation: Minimum $21.00 per hour; Maximum $21.00 per hour ($43,680 annualized)
Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Position will be based out of our Corona, Queens Family Health Center, Plaza Del Sol. This position will require flexibility to train in our Bronx based flagship Family Health Center; El Nuevo San Juan in the beginning of employment with a schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Once training is completed, departmental schedule will commence and will be to work Monday-Friday 7am-5:30pm and rotating Saturdays 7am-1:30pm. The duration of temporary assignment will be 3 to 6 months.
