Position Summary:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse/Nurse Manager for our Plaza del Sol Family Health Center. As a Nurse Manager, you will partner with the Director of Operations, Medical Director, and our dedicated team of associates. You will provide clinical support to the site, by way of ensuring nursing standards are upheld, and providing clinical guidance and training to nurses and medical assistants.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required + 3-5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • NYS Registered Professional Nurse, required. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Previous exposure to federally qualified health centers, family medicine practices, ambulatory/outpatient setting is highly desired.
  • Ability to serve as a mentor to staff, ability to troubleshoot complex clinical scenarios, and ability to thrive in a high patient volume environment. 
  • Knowledge/training in electronic health records and Microsoft Office.
 
Key Duties:
  • Ensures that staffing levels and coverage are adequate to meet patient care and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates with Chief of Nursing, Site Director and Medical Director (MD) to promote a productive and healthy work environment for nursing staff.
  • Assists with development and implementation of training programs.
  • Orders and maintains stock of medications, medical supplies, and patient care equipment and/or supplies for assignment department.
  • Participates in quality assurance practices and meetings.
  • Ensures that nursing practices and procedures are compliant and that nursing and ancillary staff practice within their individual scopes of practice.
  • Conducts clinical check-ins and meetings with nurses, medical assistants and supports the assessment of nursing competency, gaps, and training to bridge the gap. 
  • Maintains all duties are responsibilities of a Registered Nurse at Urban Health Plan including triage, immunizations, health education, sterilization, medication management. In the absence of a floor nurse in the department, will maintain primary duties of floor nurse. 
 
Starting Compensation:  Minimum $120,000/annum; Maximum $124,000/annum
 
Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
Onsite, Corona, Queens, NY, Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00 pm/8:30-5:30/9:00-6:00. Rotating Saturday shifts with a day off during the week.
