Our well-established manufacturing client is seeking a Quality Manager to join their growing team! This is a full-time, first shift role near the Albany, NY, area. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience managing quality control in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities of the Quality Manager will include:
Maintain and enhance quality system, including ISO 9001-2015 certification
Supervise quality system, ensuring compliance and fostering a culture focused on quality
Coordinate and conduct regular and through quality audits of production processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure quality standards are being met
Implement lean and continuous improvement principles within the quality process
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues
Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities for optimization, and root causes of defects
Conduct and revise risk assessments
Implement risk management strategies to proactively identify and mitigate quality risks
Lead corrective and preventative action initiatives to address issues and improve overall product quality
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, and make recommendations to update best practices and improve overall quality management system
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications for the role of Quality Manager:
3+ years' quality management experience in a manufacturing setting
Experience with ISO and/or AS9100 quality systems
Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, operations, or a related field
A quality certification such as CQA, CQE, CMQ, or CSSBB is preferred, but not required
Working knowledge of quality systems, including ISO certification, control plan development, design and process FMEA creation, and KPI management
Understanding of demand planning, materials management, and quality assurance systems within a production environment.
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement, Lean, and/or Six Sigma methodologies as applied to manufacturing, such as value stream mapping
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Customer-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and a drive for success
Ability to use project management tools and Microsoft Office applications to track progress and manage resources
Able to regularly lift or move 10-50 lbs; able to occasionally lift or move 100+ lbs
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $80,000 to $100,000 per year.
