Join our client's team as an IT Technician, reporting directly to the Manager of IT. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, installation, repair, and maintenance of PC workstations and peripherals across all locations of the organization. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the technology infrastructure, providing support to executives and end-users alike.  This is a temp-to-hire opportunity located in Albany, NY.
 
Responsibilities of the IT Technician will include:
  • Respond promptly to trouble tickets and calls, providing first-level support and primary assistance to executives.
  • Diagnose, repair, or escalate workstation, peripheral, and software-related issues as needed.
  • Conduct equipment maintenance, troubleshoot PC/printer problems, and install new equipment as required.
  • Maintain an inventory of common problem parts and accessories, ensuring readiness for rapid response.
  • Keep operating systems, software, and configurations up to date with patch and release levels.
  • Monitor bulletins and websites for patches, fixes, and vulnerability alerts to ensure system security.
  • Manage peripherals, provide end-user support and training as necessary, and coordinate hardware equipment                     inventory, maintenance, and repair.
  • Assist with computer cabling routing and termination as required.
  • Contribute recommendations for efficiency and improvements in IT operations.
  • Support systems operator backup as needed, adhering closely to the organization's information security policies and           procedures.
  • Occasionally undertake assigned projects in various areas such as low-level networking tasks, research, product                 assessment, cloud product maintenance, and A/V setups.
  • Provide assistance in 24-hour support via the paging system upon request.
  • Perform off-hour system maintenance and special processing duties as required.
  • Maintain documentation and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Test systems and assist other departmental staff as needed.
  • Stay current and knowledgeable in all related fields of expertise.
  • Fulfill any other duties as assigned.

 
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications of the IT Technician:
  • Proficiency in PC and printer repair and maintenance
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Preferred certifications: A+, Network+, Security+ or equivalents
  
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $18-20/hr.
