Are you an accounting professional seeking a new opportunity? Our client has an exciting new opening for an Accounting Assistant to join their team! This role is based in the Latham, NY, area and has an opportunity to become hybrid after the first six months.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant will include:
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Assist with vendor maintenance, including W-9 requests, 1099 reporting, electronically filing invoices, etc.
Update client AR files
Maintain client weekly cash files
Maintain expense report submissions and upload reports into general ledger system
AML procedures for vendor and investor payments
Scrub expense report files to ensure consistency
Populate internal control checklists for wire payments
Assist with wire instruction change process
Complete special projects as needed
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications for the role of Accounting Assistant:
Associates degree in an accounting related field; equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree
Bachelor's degree in accounting related field is preferred
1-3+ years' accounting experience
Experience with private fund administration is preferred
Experience with Microsoft Excel with the ability to learn new software quickly
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work as part of the team and willingness to mentor and cross-train to support client and company objectives
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work flexible hours as needed to complete client deliverables
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $55k to $60k.
