Responsibilities of the Sales Manager will include:
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for acquiring new clients within the IT MSP sector.
  • Identifying key market segments, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to tailor sales approaches effectively.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to align messaging and campaigns with target audience needs.
  • Mentoring a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure individual and collective success.
  • Setting clear performance expectations, monitoring progress, and providing regular feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target accounts.
  • Conducting discovery meetings to understand clients' business challenges, goals, and technology requirements.
  • Presenting tailored solutions and value propositions that address client needs and differentiate offerings from competitors.
  • Forecasting sales projections accurately based on pipeline health, market dynamics, and historical performance.
  • Implementing effective follow-up strategies to nurture leads and progress opportunities towards closure.
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer success, to ensure alignment of             sales strategies with organizational goals.
  • Providing valuable insights and feedback to inform product roadmap decisions and enhance overall customer experience.
  • Performing any additional job duties as requested by management to contribute to the overall success of the organization.

 
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications of the Sales Manager:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of managed IT services, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and other technology offerings provided by the MSP.
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts and effectively communicate them to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in consultative selling techniques, solution selling, and managing complex sales cycles.
  • Strong networking skills to identify and cultivate new business opportunities through referrals and industry connections.
  • Ability to understand market dynamics, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Strategic planning skills to prioritize sales efforts and focus on high-potential opportunities.
  • Resilience to handle rejection and overcome obstacles in the sales process.
  • Persistence to follow up with leads, overcome objections, and close deals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions, client requirements, and internal processes.
  • Willingness to learn and stay updated on new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in sales and marketing.
  • Relevant certifications such as sales training programs, ITIL, CompTIA, or vendor-specific certifications related to managed services           and cloud solutions are beneficial but not required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of successful sales experience, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets, selling managed IT services,         cloud solutions, cybersecurity, or related technology offerings.
  • Familiarity with the MSP business model, including recurring revenue streams and service-level agreements (SLAs), is advantageous.
  • Experience with consultative selling techniques, solution selling, and managing complex sales cycles is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems, sales automation tools, and other sales technology to manage leads, pipelines, and forecasts.
 
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $90,000-120,000 plus commission.
