Our client located near Albany, NY is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of access control and IP Video Surveillance systems. Key responsibilities include setting up, programming, configuring, and integrating security systems according to client specifications. Additionally, the candidate will diagnose and resolve client issues related to security software, CCTV hardware, and computer components.
 
Responsibilities of the Security Technician will include:
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to meet project deadlines and deliver systems as per customer expectations.
  • Read and comprehend project specifications, ensuring accurate implementation.
  • Provide end users with training, manuals, and detailed as-built diagrams.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on all installed and configured items.
  • Interact positively and professionally with customers, consultants, and trades.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and system configurations for turnover at the project's conclusion.

 
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications of the Security Technician:
  • 4+ years of experience in electronic security or a related field.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field preferred (Information Technology, Communications, Business, Criminal Justice, etc.).
  • Self-motivated with a strong problem-solving ability.
  • Detail-oriented, capable of interpreting floor plans and layouts.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
  • Quick learner with the ability to retain new skills and information.
  • Proficient computer literacy demonstrated through work experience or education.
  • Capable of working effectively at a height of 30 feet.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, ensuring all installations meet local code requirements.
  • Experience working with Physical Access Control and IP Surveillance Systems (e.g., Lenel, s2, Milestone, etc.) or associated hardware.
  • Experience working with and administering Windows client/server operating systems.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience working with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
 
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $35 - $48/hr
