Position Overview
Our well-established fleet and equipment service client is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to support maintenance and repair of heavy-duty trucks and diesel-powered equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys diagnosing complex mechanical issues and keeping vehicles operating safely and efficiently.
The Diesel Technician will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs while ensuring high-quality workmanship and accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, and related equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical system issues
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure equipment reliability
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify system faults
Repair or replace engine components, electrical systems, and related mechanical parts
Fabrication & Technical Tasks
Perform welding or soldering when required for repairs or component modifications
Assist with structural or equipment repairs as needed
Documentation & Safety
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections
Follow safety procedures and shop standards to maintain a safe work environment
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Diesel Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or similar role
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and related mechanical systems
Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment
Welding and soldering abilities preferred
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy components
Valid driver's license with clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required)
