Location: Albany, NY (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $25-$30/hour
Experience: 2+ years field services/network support experience
Travel: Frequent travel required, including overnights and off-hours work
License: Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
Our client is seeking a hands-on and customer-focused Field Services Technician to support installation, configuration, and maintenance of wireless network systems at customer locations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving technical challenges, and interacting directly with customers.
This position requires regular travel, flexibility in scheduling, and strong technical and communication skills.
* Install and support wireless access points at customer locations
* Perform physical and wireless site surveys to assess installation requirements
* Manage all on-site installation activities, including setup, configuration, and testing
* Complete accurate inventory tracking, ticket management, and asset documentation
* Prepare and update work orders, time sheets, and expense reports
* Serve as a liaison between internal teams and customers to ensure project success
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during and after installation
* Perform structured cabling and network-related tasks as needed
* Maintain company equipment and manage stock of materials in company vehicle
* Follow company standards, procedures, and safety protocols
* Provide excellent customer service and communication throughout all project phases
* Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
* 2+ years of experience in field services, network support, or structured cabling
* Experience with PC systems, peripherals, operating systems, and common software applications
* Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and installation processes
* Ability to perform inventory tracking, documentation, and asset management accurately
* Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including overnight and off-hours work
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the field
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical installation tasks
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
