Senior Budget Analyst (Hybrid)

Location: Near Schenectady, NY
Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000
Type: Full-Time | Exempt | Hybrid


Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Budget Analyst to play a key role in financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic decision support. This position partners closely with finance leadership and operational teams to develop budgets, analyze financial results, and provide insights that strengthen organizational performance and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Budget Development & Financial Planning

  • Design and maintain budgeting tools and templates to support accurate planning       and performance tracking
  • Partner with operational leaders to build and manage department and program           budgets
  • Identify financial risks, trends, and opportunities to support informed decision-             making

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Perform monthly variance analysis comparing budget to actual results
  • Prepare financial reports by location and department, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Monitor accounts receivable performance and analyze collection trends

Strategic Financial Analytics

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators such as revenue, expense trends,       staffing metrics, and service performance
  • Evaluate financial impact of operational changes, new programs, or service               expansions
  • Develop models to support strategic initiatives and long-term planning
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs

Leadership Support & Collaboration

  • Serve as a financial resource for clinical, operational, and executive leadership
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights
  • Develop dashboards and executive-level summaries
  • Contribute to process improvements and reporting enhancements

 
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related       field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or       healthcare finance
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment required
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modeling experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements and develop actionable               insights
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or MPA
  • Experience working with grant-funded or nonprofit healthcare organizations
