Position Overview
A nationally operating organization is seeking an experienced Safety & Risk Manager to lead and support company-wide safety, health, and risk management initiatives. This role plays a key part in developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs that protect employees, guests, and operations across multiple sites.
The ideal candidate is a proactive safety professional with strong regulatory knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively with operations, technical teams, and leadership in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain safety and health policies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Lead safety training programs covering workplace safety, fire prevention, chemical handling, equipment use, and emergency response
Conduct site evaluations and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
Ensure safety documentation, compliance logs, and required reporting are accurate and completed on time
Oversee placement and compliance of safety signage, PPE, barriers, and related materials
Investigate accidents, injuries, and incidents; manage regulatory reporting and documentation
Respond to guest and third-party claims and collaborate with internal teams and external counsel as needed
Manage workers' compensation and general liability claims, including liability tracking and accruals
Partner with insurance providers to assess risk exposure and mitigation strategies
Maintain safety records, training documentation, and compliance files

Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
Experience with workers' compensation programs, claims management, and safety KPIs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Proven ability to influence and collaborate across departments without direct authority
Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety/compliance management systems
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of relevant safety, risk, or compliance experience
Industry experience or closely related operational environment preferred
Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organization
Adaptable, solutions-oriented mindset aligned with organizational goals
Willingness to travel up to 20% nationally
