We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our client's finance team. This role plays a key part in shaping financial insights, supporting strategic planning, and partnering with leaders across the business. The Senior Financial Analyst will work directly with the Finance Manager to deliver accurate reporting, build forecasts, streamline processes, and provide data-driven recommendations that guide decision-making.  This is a full-time onsite position based near Albany, NY.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Partner with leadership to align financial planning with operational goals.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis to evaluate performance against targets.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and long-term forecasts.
  • Build and maintain dynamic financial models that reflect current market conditions and company strategy.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to collect inputs and ensure forecast accuracy.
  • Provide analytical support to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to evaluate initiatives and business cases.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and performance metrics to track key results.
  • Support scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate potential outcomes.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by assessing financial impact of new initiatives.
  • Leverage insights to influence decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
  • Enhance tools, processes, and methodologies for stronger financial visibility.
  • Maintain adherence to financial policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and analysis.

 
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 3 years in FP&A or similar role (experience in manufacturing or                     distribution a plus).
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and high-quality reporting.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proactive, self-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

 

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly up to $100,000.
