We are seeking a skilled Network and Systems Technician to join our client's Schenectady, NY team and play a key role in designing, installing, and maintaining computer systems, networks, and related peripherals. This is a temporary-to-hire position that involves diagnosing and resolving system and network issues and may require occasional work during evenings or weekends. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a senior technician and contribute to ensuring smooth and efficient IT operations.

Responsibilities of the Network and Systems Technician will include:

• Install and maintain personal computers, networks, and peripheral equipment.
• Set up and configure file servers, print servers, communication servers, network switches, personal computers, and printers (both desktop and network).
• Install wiring, including fiber optic cables, and test connections.
• Troubleshoot network and system issues, both on-site and remotely via user consultations or help desk support.
• Collaborate with vendors to configure routers, resolve circuit issues, and address third-party software concerns.
• Upgrade hardware and software for computers and related equipment.
• Support and maintain non-computer devices such as timekeeping systems (e.g., keypads).
• Test new operating systems and software to ensure compatibility and functionality within the existing infrastructure.
• Stay current with IT advancements by attending seminars and technical training.
