We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Sales Consultant to join our client's team. This role is centered on building strong client relationships, driving profitable sales growth, and providing expert guidance on exclusive products, menu strategies, and market trends. The Sales Consultant serves as a trusted advisor, helping customers maximize value while actively pursuing new business opportunities and strengthening existing accounts.
Operating within an assigned territory in Western MA, the Sales Consultant works independently, leverages technology, and collaborates with internal specialists and vendor partners to deliver a superior customer experience.
Responsibilities of the Sales Consultantwill include:
Prospect and acquire new customers within the assigned territory using internal and external resources.
Manage, service, and expand existing accounts to maximize revenue growth and customer loyalty.
Provide expert consultation on exclusive brands, product differentiation, and menu management.
Promote exclusive products to exceed profit goals and support customer success.
Execute pricing strategies, negotiations, and promotions to increase sales and profitability.
Develop custom order guides to streamline purchasing for clients.
Conduct product demonstrations, tastings, and presentations with prospects and customers.
Maintain accurate and detailed customer information in company systems.
Collect payments on accounts and ensure timely cash flow.
Actively participate in sales meetings, events, and training sessions.
Job Requirements
Qualifications of the Sales Consultant:
High school diploma with 10+ years of sales or foodservice experience
OR
Associate's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience
Strong understanding of foodservice products and non-food supplies, including applications and preparation.
Ability to analyze customer needs and offer effective business solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and comfortable learning new software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including email and text-based communication.
Strong active listening, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
Highly motivated, self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:
Must maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel frequently within assigned territory, with occasional overnight stays.
Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Must meet insurance requirements and reside within or near assigned service area.
Pre-employment and ongoing drug screenings required.
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $70,000.
