A well-established and growing investment advisory team located near Albany, NY is seeking a highly analytical Investment Research Analyst to support advisory services for defined contribution retirement plans, pension plans, and other institutional investment clients. This position plays a key role in delivering in-depth investment research, fund analysis, and performance reporting.

 

Responsibilities of the Investment Research Analyst will include:

  • Provide research and support for investment advisory services, primarily focused on defined contribution retirement plans           and other institutional portfolios
  • Collaborate with advisory and relationship management teams to deliver investment insights and portfolio recommendations
  • Evaluate plan investment menus and assist in constructing fund lineups that align with client objectives
  • Conduct investment due diligence, monitor fund performance, and support quarterly reviews
  • Participate in fund manager meetings and assist senior leadership in investment decision-making
  • Present investment performance results and recommendations to plan sponsors during quarterly and annual reviews
  • Maintain and manage investment reporting tools and liaise with third-party software providers
  • Produce market recaps, fund tracking updates, and investment commentary for internal and client use
  • Assist with proposals and support the advisory team in sales presentations and RFP responses
  • Help develop and maintain intellectual content on market trends and investment topics
  • Stay current on stable value funds and broader investment landscape

 

 
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications of the Investment Research Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in investment research, retirement plan consulting, or financial services
  • FINRA SIE, Series 7 and 66 (or Series 63 & 65) licenses required or obtainable within 6 months of hire
  • NYS Life, Accident & Health Insurance License (or obtain within 6 months)
  • Strong communication skills with confidence in presenting to groups and clients
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in both team-based and virtual environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% across the northeastern U.S.

 

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $90,000 - $95,000.
