A well-established construction and engineering firm near Albany, NY is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join its growing pre-construction team. This is a key role responsible for developing accurate cost estimates and proposals for mechanical systems across a wide range of commercial and industrial projects. Responsibilities of the Mechanical Estimatorwill include:
Interpret project plans, drawings, and technical specifications to determine scope and estimate requirements.
Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, piping, boilers, and fire protection.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to gather pricing data and technical details.
Evaluate labor, materials, equipment, and project timelines to produce competitive bids.
Lead or support the preparation and submission of formal bid packages.
Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings as required to understand project conditions.
Organize project site work and labor projections based on estimate findings.
Maintain and update historical cost data to inform future estimating activities.
Requisitos
Qualifications of the Mechanical Estimator:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field — or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical estimating, with strong knowledge of HVAC and piping systems.
In-depth understanding of mechanical systems and construction methods.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft-based applications.
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $125,000 - $150,000.
