Our growing client, located just outside of Albany, NY is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated temp-to-hire Accountant to join its dynamic finance team. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for accurate financial reporting, this could be the perfect fit for you.
Responsibilities of the Accountantwill include:
Maintaining complete and organized financial records, including ledgers and backup documentation.
Contributing to monthly and annual closing procedures through journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
Generating and managing reports to support month-end close.
Assisting in the development of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
Working cross-functionally with other departments to address discrepancies and provide information as needed.
Supporting internal controls and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
Assisting with audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
Monitoring project and order data to track revenue and cost estimates.
Investigating daily cash applications and supporting cash flow monitoring.
Creating regular and ad hoc reports for leadership teams, including division and business controllers.
Helping manage commissions, agent fees, and warranty tracking.
Serving as a backup for accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
Supporting initiatives to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
Job Requirements
Qualifications of the Accountant:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or be actively pursuing one).
At least 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Solid experience using Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with ERP systems is essential-SAP experience is a plus.
A good understanding of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $24-$28/hr.
