Our growing client in the transportation and services sector is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of fleet operations. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Clifton Park, NY area. The ideal candidate will bring deep operational knowledge, financial acumen, and a strategic mindset to ensure the efficient and compliant performance of a diverse vehicle fleet.

 

Responsibilities of the Fleet Manager will include:

  • Oversee acquisition, maintenance scheduling, utilization, and remarketing of fleet vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT requirements.
  • Track, analyze, and report fleet costs, utilization rates, and performance metrics to leadership.
  • Manage the operational fleet budget and prepare capital expenditure proposals.
  • Conduct ongoing fleet evaluations to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and enforce fleet policies and procedures to minimize liability and maximize productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate equipment needs and maintenance planning.
  • Foster relationships with vendors, leasing agents, service providers, and industry contacts.
  • Partner with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and inspections.
  • Prioritize and manage fleet-related projects from start to completion.

 

 
Requisitos

 

Qualifications of the Fleet Manager:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or similar role.
  • Proven ability to manage medium and heavy-duty vehicles, upfitting, and associated equipment.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle life cycling, cost analysis, and financial tracking.
  • Familiarity with insurance claims, risk management, and vehicle repair processes.
  • CDL and/or NYS vehicle inspector license preferred.
  • High level of technical aptitude to recommend cost-effective and efficient vehicle specifications.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and safety programs.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Effective communicator with both internal teams and external partners.
  • High integrity and professionalism in decision-making and operations.


Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, $80,000 - $130,000.
