Job Description

Improve the quality of products by working with Manufacturing to reduce process issues. Improve production efficiency and improve bottom line results through the participation in Six Sigma projects. Ensure product meets customer specification. Maintain adherence to customer requirements by thoroughly understanding customer culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and the customer to assure products meets customer requirements and specifications.
  • Work directly with the Engineering Team to approve/revise tools and processes, establish effective Tool Try Out and Variability Study procedures. Coordinates try out needs with CMM availability, technicians, and shop schedules.
  • Ensure shop floor has capability and resources to produce product by developing procedures, training, and systems to ensure quality performance and complete conformance with customer requirements.
  • Works as a member of the project management team providing support and direction on, but not limited to, CONTROL PLANS/ FEMA/ PROCESS FLOW/ PACKAGING/ RUN AT RATE/ GAGE DESIGN AND FABRICATION/ CUSTOMER LIAISON/ PPAP.
  • Implementation of formal Quality Assurance System designed to guarantee customer satisfaction and create a skilled work force. Establishes testing measures and histories to avoid repeat problems in manufacturing.
  • Assist to coordinate changes with Manufacturing Team, Engineering Team and Quality Team.
  • Develops formal tracking and response system to follow up on internal and external quality issues. Places priority on customer service and response.

Job Requirements

 Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree and one to two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customer, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
Additional Competencies
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required. i.e. language skills, mechanical aptitude, problem solving, communication, etc.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, flow manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, SPC, problem solving, investment analysis and best practice analysis
  • Must have mechanical skills and working knowledge of Industrial Engineering tools (Time Studies, Work Flow Analysis, Pareto Charts, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to implement win-win solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, group presentation skills, communication skills, and computer proficiency (including Excel and Word).
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently as needed.
