Job Description

Our client's growth path is driven by their ability to develop and control rigorous manufacturing processes.  They are looking for a leader to push forward our thinking and process capability systematically as they develop higher volume applications. 
The person who will thrive in this position has a rigorous understanding of processes and process management, an eye for detail, and an appreciation for the principles of flow, 5-S, Lean and process improvement. S/he will be able to develop process improvements that lower capital and operational cost, process development for new products, and engineering value add work streams.  We are looking for a process driven leader that can engage a team. 
Duties and responsibilities
  • Design, develop and implement equipment and processes to improve manufacturing processes and production cell(s)
  • Develop project plans and timelines, resource and equipment needs, budgets, outside contractors, purchased equipment & materials.  Document, track and communicate project and budget status, ensuring work is completed on time and in budget
  • Drive manufacturing process optimization, capacity utilization, cost reductions and waste reduction
  • Utilize risk analysis and problem solving tools such as FMEA, Root Cause Analysis to design processes and solve process problems
  • Develop the Manufacturing Engineering team in fundamentals such as methods standardization, follow up, workstation design, and capacity studies
  • Develop, implement and communicate a predictive preventive maintenance program
  • Ensure safety, product/production regulatory requirements and certifications are followed
  • Support new product quote and development

Job Requirements

  • B.S. Mechanical, Manufacturing or Process Engineering or closely related technical degree coupled with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience required
  • Strong basic machining experience - milling (CNC & manual), programing, fixture/jig design and fabrication, with SMED & poke-yoke mentality to improve machining, assembly and testing capabilities
  • Strong technical abilities in a variety of manufacturing disciplines including demonstrated expertise in a production environment
  • Experience in Automotive or Aerospace industries – strongly preferred
  • Experience in Medical or Electronics Industries preferred
  • Ability to be proactive, self-disciplined, and capable of working on multiple projects or tasks in an organized and efficient manner to meet ambitious corporate timelines.
  • Three years in a management capacity  with experience in leading Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance Team Members
  • Familiarity with GMP and ISO 9001
  • Previous experience/certification in lean manufacturing highly desirable
  • SolidWorks proficiency preferred
  • Experience within Europe and China are a plus
  • Strong communications, teamwork, and leadership
