Our customer is searching for a CNC Supervisor. This position is on day shift and is responsible for leading a CNC machine shop operating a 2-shift, 5-day/week schedule. This organization is a heavy OT facility and average work week is 55 hours.
Duties:
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures. Embraces an
accident/incident-free work environment.
• Supervise, plan, coach, and train CNC and manual machinists to manufacture parts to customer
specifications, defect-free, minimizing scrap, and to on-time shipment.
• Adhere to and ensure process and quality procedures are maintained to meet customer requirements.
• Knowledge of manual and CNC lathe and vertical mill machining of carbon steel, techniques, and
associated quality control and inspection systems. Ideally, knowledge in OD grinding, gear cutting, and
welding.
• Ability to program CNC machines (DMG Mori lathes and HAAS mills).
• Review customer drawings, understand technical specifications, and translate into shop routers and
work instructions to manufacture products.
• Knowledge of operations scheduling and work flow. Familiar with lean manufacturing concepts.
• Familiarity with First Article, Engineering Change Notice, and PPAP processes.
• Able to independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve customer technical and application
problems.
• Observes, recommends, and implements improvements. Embraces and strives for continuous
improvement.
