Job Description

Position Summary
To perform machine programming and some operations on CNC mill and lathe including set-up, programming and offset adjustments.
Essential Job Functions
  • Requiring considerable skill to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work, being exact and finish to the specifications
  • Set-up and operate of various machines (saw, drill, press, lathe and mill)
  • Measure parts to their blueprint specifications
Learning Period
  • 1-3 months
Working Conditions
  • OSHA compliant manufacturing facility

Job Requirements

Education/License Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum six (6) months related work experience required; two (2) years’ preferred
  • Knowledge of CNC Mill and Lathe preferred
  • Previous manufacturing work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of programming instructions, operational data and machine set up instructions defining and coding tool arrangements, material clamping methods, calibrations and console settings
  • Knowledge of machine calibrations, material clamping methods and measuring instruments (micrometers, dial calipers, bore gages, tape measure)
  • Knowledge of and experience with machine techniques, methods and familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool operating procedures
  • Ability to use hand and/or power tools
  • Must be able to follow written instructions and read blueprints and schematics
  • Must have good communication skills
