Position Summary This position will lead all material functions in a team oriented manufacturing environment to support plant objectives for on-time delivery, inventory level, and supplier material flow and delivery to the assemblers/plant floor. Primary functions will include, but will not be limited to, implementing material Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to ensure the most efficient and economical movement of all materials in and out of the plant, and the ability to take necessary actions to eliminate delays and insure adherence to production and shipping schedules.
Essential Job Functions
Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments,according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records
Work closely with Purchasing, Production, Stockroom, Material Expediter, Planners, and other material personnel to minimal inventory levels without resulting without resulting in production delays
Communicates regularly with PIC Supervisor relative to availability of materials, delays, changing orders and handling problems
Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials
Dispatch jobs and parts to a major assembly operation, working with work cell Lead Person
Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications
Kit parts on a project basis
Maintain an active knowledge of all work in process jobs and point of material consumption
Oversee and coordinate inventory accuracy through cycle counting, appropriate inventory transactions, and annual physical inventory counts
Replenish point-of-use inventories in work cells, update shortage boardsServe as a back-up or fill-in for all other inventory control/material related job functions, as well as encoders supervisor.
Job Requirements
Experience Requirements
A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' related work experience in production and inventory control strongly preferred
Experience with bills of material and shop orders
Experience working with an ERP system (SAP) and MRP Processing
Prior team lead experience preferred
Competencies
Must have strong communication (both written and verbal) skills
Must have computer knowledge with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
Attention to detail is required
Self-starter with a strong work ethic
Must be able to interact between all levels of the organization
