Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will support the accounting and finance function by performing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and assisting with month-end close processes. This role will provide critical support during a period of increased workload. The assignment is full-time and temporary, with an expected duration that is currently undetermined.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank and balance sheet accounts
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies or variances
Maintain and update financial records in accordance with company policies
Assist with audit preparation, including gathering supporting documentation
Support fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
Prepare reports and schedules for internal stakeholders and leadership
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, sales, and other departments as needed.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
2–5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team
Team orientation, willingness to learn and take direction.
