Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will support the accounting and finance function by performing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and assisting with month-end close processes. This role will provide critical support during a period of increased workload. The assignment is full-time and temporary, with an expected duration that is currently undetermined.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation 
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes 
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank and balance sheet accounts 
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed 
  • Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies or variances 
  • Maintain and update financial records in accordance with company policies 
  • Assist with audit preparation, including gathering supporting documentation 
  • Support fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules 
  • Prepare reports and schedules for internal stakeholders and leadership 
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, sales, and other departments as needed.

 
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2–5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred 
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles 
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team
  • Team orientation, willingness to learn and take direction.
