Responsibilities
Facilitate root cause analysis and provide engineering support to trouble shoot and identify solutions to resolve technical problems.
Utilize trending information and apply new technologies to identify and implement systematic approaches for repeatability and continuous improvement.
Study operations sequence, material flow, functional duties, and other activities to determine overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Participate with engineering and operations groups to develop capability studies, statistical analysis, and FMEA and in the final qualification of equipment, raw materials and tooling for sustainability of long-term process capabilities.
Collaborate with design engineering regarding product tooling and design to ensure effective production methods.
Foster the attainment of best-in-class manufacturing through the influence and support of engineering practices including but not limited to LEAN and Six Sigma processes.
Designing and developing manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
Creates 3D models, 2D drawings, BOM, Gantt charts, process sheets.
Evaluates potential engineering changes to the products and what tooling changes are required, implements tool design models and drawings as required.
Leads projects, sets expectations, engages, guides, and provides support to toolmakers and CNC programmers in order to meet project deadlines.
Performs necessary functions to adhere to ISO standards.
Supports injection molding with fixtures, gages, end of arm tooling (EOAT), and other basic tool support.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
Deep understanding of design for manufacturing, tooling technology, assembly, fabrication.
Ability to handle multiple projects.
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software; KeyCreator and Solidworks or Creo
Complex problem-solving capability.
Knowledge of fundamental manufacturing methods, like plastic injection, CNC machining, EDM, rapid prototyping, automation, robotics, 3D printing, etc.
Familiarity with design of basic assembly equipment and fixtures.
