Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Machine Builder to be responsible for the day to day assembly processes of heavy industrial equipment within their department by organizing and prioritizing scheduled workload, reacting to issues impeding on timely completion of machine assemblies, and insuring quality and testing standards are maintained.
 
Respnsibilities include:
  • Communicate about problems and issues that may effect on-time completion of scheduled work orders, cost improvement suggestions, and quality issues.
  • Provide daily assistance to department employees to solve issues concerning scheduling, safety, cost, assembly processes, and quality.
  • Ensure department operates with the required raw materials, tooling, fixtures, and equipment to meet schedule and quality requirements.
  • Manage shop floor control of department using ROI Manage 2000 including material issues, tracking, and closing of department work orders.
  • Expedite shortages needed to complete final assemblies on-time to meet shipping schedule.
  • Perform final inspection and test of all finished assemblies to assure quality standards are met before shipment.
  • Process Engineering Change Request to design engineering for product improvement.


Job Requirements

  • This position requires a level of professional knowledge typically acquired through a minimum of 5+ years of relevant machine building experience. 
  • A thorough understanding of the manufacturing processes required to fabricate and assemble large, heavy industrial equipment machines with power transmission systems in a low volume job shop setting.
  • An innovative and creative ability to learn the customer's use of the machines being built so as to more effectively problem solve and to seek out and develop new ideas to optimize the productivity of people, materials and equipment.
