Job Description

Konik PrimeStaff is working with a client in Minneapolis who is seeking a talented CNC machinist for 2nd shift (3pm-1:30am), Mon-Thurs. Primarily working with parts for the Aerospace Industry. 

- Advanced level of skilled machinist that can run all machines including Lathes and Mills.
- Works with Engineering and Quality Departments to develop new products.
- Performs advanced tool selection and set-ups, independent editing and signs off on first article programming.
- Runs multiple machines simultaneously.
- Trouble shoots and guarantees machines run properly to create the precise part.
- Independently edits and inspects own parts and signs off first piece of approval.
- Customer interaction during process and part developments. Trains and develops co-workers.


Job Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of CNC Machinist experience (combination of Mill and Lathe).
- Demonstrated experience with set-up and operations of 4-Axis and/or 5-Axis Machines.
- Ability to perform at all machinist levels.
- Demonstrated ability running 2-3 machines simultaneously.
- Must pass Certified Operator Exam.
- Advanced understanding of GD&T and CMM skills.
- Advanced trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
- De-monstrated experience working with exotic materials (i.e., Inconel, titanium, etc.).
- Can perform machinist tasks including adjusting speeds and feeds, as well as, cutter comps.
- Advanced level of inspection and blue print reading.
- Understanding of G code and M code basics and purpose.
- Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension in English language.
- Knowledge of industrial math including arithmetic, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to calculate measurement conversion, total tolerances between mating parts, speeds and feeds, material usage, Cartesian coordinates, and G & M codes.
- Advanced metrology with the ability to perform inspection for high complex parts.
- Knowledge of computer integrated manufacturing software including accessing and retrieving information using the computer.
- Ability to edit computer aided software and their applications.
- Knowledge of metals, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective  manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Advanced logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to solve problems using root cause analysis methods.
- Cooperative attitude, shares critical information, and remains professional in difficult situations.
- Self-directed; ability to work independently.
