Job Description

Business Development Specialist
Business Development Specialist (Proposal Writer) is responsible for developing and promoting Penda Aiken Talent Acquisition Services, through creation of communications programs that include written business proposals, graphics, logos and other promotional avenues that support the growth and expansion of our services.
  • Manage the proposal development process and adhere to timelines and proposal due dates.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of solicitations aligned with the organizational direction and business strategies of Penda Aiken, Inc.
  • Manage relationship with current and potential client opportunities
  • Initiate and support marketing activities to include the development and distribution of capability statements, flyers, brochures and various printed materials used in business development.
  • Attend conferences and seminars.
  • Send out correspondence including mailings, and email correspondence to support Business Development initiatives.
  • Identify business opportunities by tracking solicitations and monitoring their release; researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
  • Maintain accountability for documents and materials associated with business development activities including arrangements, documents, capability statements, past performance questionnaires and contracts.
  • Maintain Business Development system database of activity for reporting and analysis.
  • Visit current and potential clients. 
  • Be willing to travel to support BD and marketing intiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning all Penda Aiken, Inc. policies and documents.
  • Experience as a business proposal writer with the ability to organize, apply hierarchy, and tailor content to address various audiences & mediums.
  • Experience writing and designing staffing company proposals, highly preferred.
  • Social media experience and/or marketing copy highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be a strategic thinker that sees the whole landscape.
  • Strong analytical experience; ability to use data to create, implement and execute a digital campaign.
  • Excellent written and communication skills and comfort interfacing with C-suite executives.
  • Partner with Penda Aiken Inc. management to coordinate client facing events, materials, and other communications in alignment with marketing goals.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities by tracking solicitations and monitoring their release, researching industry and related events
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite programs (word, ppt, excel, etc).
  • Proficient in design/photoshop software, highly desirable
  • Previous work experience as a Social Media/Digital Analyst, Social Media/Digital Assistant a plus.
  • Experience as a content producer highly desirable.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, business or related field
  • Proposal writing experience (4 years required)
  • Experience in Business Development and/or Marketing Communications
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent communicator, writing skills, closing skills, motivational
  • Familiarity with contracting in various industries
  • Prospecting skills, sales planning, territory management
  • Talent Acquisition Industry Knowledge preferred
  • Presentation skills, high energy level, professionalism
